Only one event can cause the United States of America to completely stop for an entire day. Families and friends across the entire nation come together to see who will win the greatest prize in football and be crowned winners of the Vince Lombardi trophy. It can only be Super Bowl Sunday!
At Spain Games we have a whole day event gong on including many different games, challenges and prizes to be won, and of course ending with watching the game itself. There’s Super Sumo FIghting, Dodgeball, Touchdown Target Throws, Beer Pong, Touch Football, Gladiator Games and more!
Our amazing prizes include:
*A Helicopter Ride Around Barcelona
*Horseback Riding
*Paintball Game with friends
*Kayaking and Snorkeling in Costa Brava
*American Food Gift Basket Subscription
Then of course there is the big game itself. Enjoy the BBQ and chilli dogs and finish the day with the game on a big screen in a nightclub on the beach, reserved just for us!
However, if you are unable to join us, we are sure you will still want to watch the proceedings as they unravel, and so here is the best places in the city to catch the game:
The Hard Rock Cafe – Plaça de Catalunya
On the slightly pricier end of the spectrum, there is of course one place in Barcelona for all things American; Hard Rock Cafe! If you want to experience the razzmatazz of Super Bowl, with all the big and great food and drinks on large screens with an atmospheric crowd, then this is the place for you. Right in the heart of town just off Placa Catalunya, you cant miss this world famous restaurant to watch the world famous match. Word of warning however, due to city closing time restrictions, they may not be able to show the entire match all the way up to the fourth quarter.
Belushi’s – Carrer de Bergara (Full Game Shown)
This stylish burger joint has promised it will not close its doors early, so you can watch from the 1st quarter to the last. We recommend making a booking for this bar if you are planning to go as it is always very popular. Always full with some sports mad locals being part of a hostel, you’re bound to meet some fellow Super Bowl fans and have a great time.
The George Payne – Plaça d’Urquinaona
Normally famous for its Karaoke nights on a Sunday, for one Sunday only the singing will be put on mute as football fans from around the city gather in this large Irish pub to down some Guinness and watch the 51st Super Bowl. Just down past the Placa Catalunya, this is right in the heart of the city and will definitely have a big student following. So if meeting people is your thing, this is where to do it as you get your Irish on while watching all things American.
Flaherty – Plaza Joaquim Xirau
Arguably the most famous sports bar in the city, Flaherty’s simply could not get away with not showing the Super Bowl. With no less that 3 large screens and several more small ones, combined with its great selection of food, drink and pool table to boot, this really is going to be a hot spot for the biggest game on earth.
Wherever you choose to watch Super Bowl Sunday, we know you will have a great time. And if you are free in the day, come and join us at Spain Games for our tailgate party followed by the full game live in a nightclub on the beach!
