Kayaking & Snorkeling

Barcelona Kayak Costa Brava

Kayak and Snorkel In Breathtaking Costa Brava

Lunch | Kayaking and Snorkeling | Daily Departures at 9 and 12

Join us for the best day sea kayaking you can have! Our kayaking trips head to the Costa Brava, the most beautiful coastline that is on offer around the Barcelona area.

During the summer we provide daily guided kayaking tours. Your guide will meet you with a packed lunch in the city, guide you to our private coach or van and instruct you on the use of the kayaking- and safety equipment upon arrival. Once out at sea you will explore the caves, snorkel with starfish and schools of colourful sea creatures, eat a lunch along the way and get the chance to practice your rock diving skills if you are up for it.

We spend about 2,5 hours on the kayaks exploring the coastline and usually we snorkel for about 20 minutes of that time, but it all depends on the sea life we find that day and the wishes of the group. We normally have about half an hour to an hour left to spend on the beach before we head back into the bus.

The Costa Brava (rugged coast) has an amazing coastline with big rocky headlands below which lie some amazing kayaking routes. Your guide knows the ins and outs of the area and will show you the small caves, clear snorkelling and lots of sea life.

Daily pick-ups at 9 and 12 o’clock, you will be back in the city around 18.30 Lunch is included, so all you need to bring is sunscreen and bikini / board shorts.

How to book: You can book on the website by paying a €20 deposit and the rest upon arrival at the meeting point or you can pay in full in advance. If you have any questions you can call Tim at +34 610674669. We are booked out often, so don’t leave it till the last minute!

Meeting point: We leave at 09.00 and 12.00 from Passeig de Colom 7, a little bar called Kulas Bar.

Where we go: We leave Barcelona and drive a little over an hour to a small town called Sant Feliu / Arago.

Our lunch: Our lunch consists of a sandwich, tortilla (Spanish potato omelette) and a water to keep up your energy during the kayaking. We eat out at sea, on a beautiful rocky platform. If you are a vegetarian, please mention this when booking so we can bring you a vegetarian sandwich. The non vegetarian sandwiches have ham and cheese and a selection of tomato, lettuce and cucumber that your guide will cut fresh for you.

Our guides: Our guides are passionate kayakers and have years of experience finding the most beautiful kayaking routes and adapting those to different weather conditions to give you the best experience. They are trained in safety and enjoy creating the best possible day. Try them, ask them anything!

To bring & store: We will provide you with water, lunch, a kayak, snorkeling equipment (goggles and snorkel), vest, paddles and a wetsuit if it’s cold. You can store your bags in a guarded beach hut. All you need is swimwear, sunscreen and a towel. Alternatively you can bring a hat and glasses to protect against the sun (ask your guide for a rope to secure your glasses, as they might end up on the bottom of the sea if not secured) and a waterproof camera. Water shoes or old sports shoes are handy if you’re not comfortable walking on the rocks. We advise you to leave your phone behind unless you are totally sure it’s packed waterproof.

Experience: Both inexperienced and experienced kayakers enjoy our trips, the only requirement is that you are able to swim at least a lap in a swimming pool. You will be explained how to use the paddles and steer the kayak. The kayaks are professional kayaks made for sea kayaking, that are perfect for the type of trip we do. They are sit-on-top style kayaks (you are not inside it, nor strapped in) that are safe for every level of kayaker.

Not kayaking: If you’re not kayaking but you still want to join the trip, be our guest! You can spend the day at the beach or exploring the town until the kayaks come back. For €35 you can still experience the Costa Brava without kayaking.

Group size: There will be at least one guide per 16 kayakers. If your group is bigger, you will have more guides but your group can still stay together. Our kayaks are two seaters and, unless the group is an uneven number, you will be kayaking with a buddy.

Cancellation: We really value safety, so when the weather conditions are unsafe we will have to cancel the kayaking tour. This happens occasionally. We will notify you as soon as possible by phone or in person and return the deposits. If you want to cancel, you can do so up till 48 hours before the tour and get your deposit returned to you.
